PERFECTION IN EVERYTHING

Updated: Nov 22, 2023

WHILE I DON'T CONSIDER MYSELF A PERFECTIONIST, I DERIVE IMMENSE SATISFACTION FROM ENHANCING THE PERFECTION IN EVERYTHING AROUND ME.

Perfectionism is often misconstrued as a mental disorder, portraying individuals unable to tolerate any imperfections. Let's delve into the repercussions of both the constructive and detrimental aspects of perfectionism.

When does perfectionism become unhealthy? The unhealthy facet emerges when an obsession with eliminating imperfections leads to personal suffering. Trying to rectify every flaw or being unable to tolerate even the slightest imperfection results in personal anguish. Yes, I mean it—YOU SUFFER, not the other way around.

Creation is a blend of perfection and imperfection. Sometimes, in our pursuit of perfection, we defy the natural order of creation. For equilibrium on our planet, we need curvy mountains, flat plains, and wavy waters. A tall tree requires rough roots, a sturdy stem, and delicate leaves. Imagine if everything in creation were perfectly shaped and sized—it would be repulsive.

A perfect outcome stems from an imperfect beginning, as nothing commences with perfection. Perfectionism becomes healthy when obsession wanes. Acceptance of imperfection eliminates inner turmoil. Peace fosters spontaneity, bringing forth inherent perfection.

Vedic chanting serves as a tool to nurture a healthy perfectionist. This perfectionist, imbued with patience, understanding, and maturity, cultivates intelligence and sensitivity. Unburdened by the compulsion to make everything perfect, they do not suffer.

Consistent practice of Vedic mantras, focusing on breath, voice, pronunciation, and intonations, naturally stimulates the brain's center that nurtures perfection in every endeavor. Striving for excellence becomes a serene journey devoid of stress, and the entire process of being a perfectionist transforms into an enjoyable pursuit.
